3rdtrick Posted June 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, this is my first post. Just bought the D Lux 3 last month and used it at the Harrington Car Show over the weekend. It was the perfect little camera for the show. I was impressed at how it handled the wonderful light of the Mid-Day Sun. Here are a few images. wda Posted June 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2007 Peter, welcome to the Forum. Very colorful images well framed. David
farnz Posted June 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 26, 2007 Pete, Some very nice shots and the DL3 performs very well. But it's so eerie because there's so many $$$$-worth of prime vehicles but there's NOBODY there! It's like the alien spaceship has landed and zapped all the kindly townsfolk to another galaxy. Pete. PS: perhaps this post would be more at home in the Photo forum.
3rdtrick Posted June 26, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted June 26, 2007 Thanks David and Pete. I mostly waited for the people to clear before I took the pic. I will work on that though, it would be cool to have the people looking at or sitting in the cars. Maybe I will ask the owners to pose with their cars. Here is one with people... Can a thread be moved to the photo forum? I will post in that one next time. Pete
stuny Posted June 26, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 26, 2007 Pete - Welcome to the Forum. I long been a fan of the '58 Impala convertible and the hardtop. Lovely shots. I for one, prefer most photos of cars on display to be without people.
farnz Posted June 26, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 26, 2007 Pete, I should explain: I prefer the look without the people. I find that stray people are irrationaly and instantly attracted to whatever my camera is pointing at and I'm forever (unsuccessfully) mentally willing them to moooove awaaaaay. But then they just stay right where they are and stare at me in a dazed way. You must possess special powers. Pete.
3rdtrick Posted June 30, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted June 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Stuart. Pete, I framed the pics then waited for the people to leave. I guess no one noticed the small D Lux 3 and did not jump in front. I still think I will try to get the owners to pose with their cars next time. elansprint72 Posted July 1, 2007 Share #8 Posted July 1, 2007 Pete, Welcome to the forum! Some nice shots there, did you shoot the angled ones like that, or rotate them after in PS? Whatever, it works well. The engine shot has a real glow, looks like you got a good little camera. Cheers, Pete.
