Flare resistance of summicrons is excellent. Comments are welcome. Never tired to learn.

sandro Posted June 26, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted June 26, 2007 Fernando, as an architectural historian I like the third one best. It is very difficult to make the other sides special, since they are photographed so often, but the third photo is really original. Also the light shows nice intensity and variations. PeterL Posted June 27, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted June 27, 2007 Thanks for showing these pics. They remind me on a visit now maybe 45 years ago, when I came there with a choir, I was singing in. The acoustic (inside and outside) was overwhelming good, so you nearly had just to open the mouth and think about th right sound and you heard it. I'll never forget it. Artichoke Posted June 28, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted June 28, 2007 of one of the grand architectural icons of the last century your first photograph brings back memories of a similar one I saw in Life magazine years ago ...it also was in BW & had a bit more severe angle to its composition ...I have looked for it on the Internet, but to no avail the second is a lovely use of contre jour & may work even better as a BW as well, though I love the colors what a treat to see these makes me want to take a trip to the east of France
MrEd Posted June 28, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted June 28, 2007 Another vote for the third one. Cool shots. Thanks for sharing. Ed. Â Â Â Â Â .
fernando_b Posted June 28, 2007 Author Share #7 Â Posted June 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Peter, interesting to learn that it has also a so good acoustic. I knew only it was famous as example of the Rationalist architecture, greatest members of which were Le Corbusier, Gropius and Mies van der Rohe. Â Arthur and Ed, happy to read you appreciated the images. Regarding the second one in colour, my intention was also to show the flare (despite very low, the summicron 50 is excellent in this), in BW it is less evident. Fernando. geoffreyg Posted June 29, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted June 29, 2007 Third one brings new life to the aqrchiteture. The elevations on the second one are pretty interesting as well. Nice to see it "live" again! Â Geoff G
