Ronchamp, Le Corbusier

Fernando, as an architectural historian I like the third one best. It is very difficult to make the other sides special, since they are photographed so often, but the third photo is really original. Also the light shows nice intensity and variations.

Thanks for showing these pics. They remind me on a visit now maybe 45 years ago, when I came there with a choir, I was singing in. The acoustic (inside and outside) was overwhelming good, so you nearly had just to open the mouth and think about th right sound and you heard it. I'll never forget it.

of one of the grand architectural icons of the last century

your first photograph brings back memories of a similar one I saw in Life magazine years ago ...it also was in BW & had a bit more severe angle to its composition ...I have looked for it on the Internet, but to no avail

the second is a lovely use of contre jour & may work even better as a BW as well, though I love the colors

what a treat to see these

makes me want to take a trip to the east of France

Peter,

interesting to learn that it has also a so good acoustic. I knew only it was famous as example of the Rationalist architecture, greatest members of which were Le Corbusier, Gropius and Mies van der Rohe.

Arthur and Ed,

happy to read you appreciated the images.

Regarding the second one in colour, my intention was also to show the flare (despite very low, the summicron 50 is excellent in this), in BW it is less evident.

Fernando.
