albert Posted August 2, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 2, 2017 We love their cooing. I hunted them once many years ago and that was one time too many.
North / Northwest Posted August 2, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted August 2, 2017 Brent & Al, I enjoy having doves on my property. It makes things seem more natural.
Tom Barry Posted August 5, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 5, 2017 Whitewing doves now outnumber the mourning doves in many Texas cities, such as Austin, where I live. The whitewings were once confined to the Rio Grande Valley area. But they began migrating after crop changes in South Texas and now can be found all over the state. North / Northwest Posted August 6, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted August 6, 2017 That's interesting Tom. In my area it's a mix of mourning doves and the ringnecked doves.
Tom Barry Posted August 6, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 6, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) We have a few ring-necked doves in the area, but I've never seen one at our feeders. I've seen quite a few north of here, however.
