findranger Posted July 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, am I the only one experiencing temperature issues with my Q? After 10 minutes of use it gets really warm (almost hot) in the right body area (where the battery sits) and in the screen area. Is this normal? It's such a nice camera but I really don't like that behavior. Anybody else experiencing this, should I worry? FW 2.0. Thanks a lot!

jaapv Posted July 23, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2017 Most cameras heat up a bit in use.Why should the Q be different?

Stonewall Brigade Posted July 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted July 25, 2017 My Q heats up as you described. That is because I like to use the screen on for my image composing and focus point selection. And, the day's temperature was 93 F.
findranger Posted August 7, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted August 7, 2017 The problem seems to be a non-issue for me in daily use. It only occurs with extensive use of the LCD, which was the case when fiddling arround with menues etc. I prefer EVF. LCD-shooters might still have their Q getting warm after a few minutes. sparkster Posted May 26, 2024 Share #7 Posted May 26, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got my Q3 — and my first Leica— and at the wifi step of setup the screen went black with a green status light blinking. I put it back in its box for a while, apparently leaving it on. Two hours later I pulled it out and was hot. Not warm, hot. The screen was still blank, status light still blinking green and the battery almost drained. The battery itself was not especially hot. The camera was much much hotter. Not the best introduction to Leica…
Le Chef Posted May 26, 2024 Share #8 Posted May 26, 2024 Switch off the WiFi and BT - waste of time. If you want it to stay cool, obviously don’t put it in a box which prevents heat from escaping.
