DeanFrankPhotography Posted July 8, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been reading here awhile but have not posted. I just received my first Leica M yesterday an M3. I have a what seems to be a silly question but I can't seem to find the answer elsewhere. When I use the reverse lever to rewind the film, do I need to manually move it back from the "R" position or should it go back into position automatically? I want to make sure my camera is working properly during the return period. It has been CLA'd but I was unsure of this worked. Thank you for your help. Advertisement Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hi DeanFrankPhotography, Take a look here M3 "R" lever. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted July 8, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 8, 2017 When the rewind is finished, the R lever will be automatically returned to vertical position at first wind action. But it can be pushed in vertical position after film rewind. Same result, automatic return or manual.
