Actual journalist using an M240?

Here's something I seldom see, an actual journalist who appears to be using a Leica M240 alongside his Canon DSLR.  His name is Ali Arkady and he recently filmed some controversial footage of alleged torture in Mosul, Iraq.  At least I think it's an M240.  Screenshot here:Screen-Shot-2017-06-28-at-8-12-34-AM.jpg

You really need to subscribe to LFI magazine if you want to see top quality contemporary journalism making use of Leica M (and other) cameras. There is more out there than you may realise and of course in the Sunday supplements and monthly journals the camera never gets a byline.

I have trouble framing things up through safety glasses over my glasses when on project sites. I can't imagine trying to shoot through a gas mask.

I used one of these in the day. Lately I've been using the RF only to focus and an optical viewfinder in the flash shoe. It might work for you.

Ah, great camera. I don't recognise the finder, what one was that?

We simply called it the optical sports finder. It was great!

And with Nikon's 85m f/1.8 lens we could frame and focus with

both eyes open. An almost perfect 1:1 view; something like

using an M3 and 50mm.
