Does this look like sensor corrosion?

Took a few snaps with my M9 today of a bright sky and noticed that there are loads of little spots around the edges of the frame.  I got my rocket blower out and gave the sensor and lenses a good blast and tried again and they are still there.  I've highlighted some of them here and wonder if anyone can comment on whether it looks like the dreaded corrosion.  I took these at F16 as they aren't visible at wider apertures.

Here's another shot of a larger spec.

I must admit the thought of my sensor failing later on in the year has been filling me with dread as I don't have a spare €800 laying around to get it fixed. I'm kind of hoping that it is corrosion so I can get it out of the way now.

I've emailed Leica some pics for their advice.

I would not have been messing around with mails, I would just have asked for an UPS label to collect the camera.

I'm not confident enough knowing that it isn't just dust on the sensor to be demanding UPS labels and collections. Don't want to look like a total idiot when it's just dirty :)

From what I've seen, dust spots don't have the white halo - I don't think you'll end up looking like an idiot! Only way I'd be ruling out corrosion is if your camera has already had the sensor replaced with second generation one.

Definitely hasn't had the sensor replaced. I bought it used a few months back and it had taken less than 700 shots. It has a load of stuck pixels as well, but I decided to live with that for a healthy discount on the price as Lightroom sorts them all out upon import if you shoot RAW. Plus side is that this will no longer be an issue either.

I'm pretty sure it's not dust because it has suddenly appeared all around the edges of the frame and no amount of blowing with the rocket blower is changing the pattern of the spots.

You are lucky! Very few actuations and 'healthy discount'.. ..fingers crossed you'll get a second generation sensor and service for free! Only down side is that your camera is going on quite a long holiday :-o Crack open the bubbly!

You won't look like an idiot. Leica does not offer a clean-and-check service for fun.

Looks like a combination of dust and corrosion, mostly corrosion.  What sensor doesn't have some dust.

When calling Leica New Jersey and selecting option 4 (repair), a recording is played giving the address and a few instructions for sending equipment, followed by a click and the call is disconnected.  I guess I could call back and ask to speak to a live person, the transfer often times gets another recording to leave a message.  It is not unlike customer service with many companies today but the time involved can be lengthy with delays of days, sometimes stretching into the following week.  $22 to ship it via Postal Service with insurance and signature confirmation, avoiding all the time involved to talk to a live person, well worth it and the camera arrives at Leica potentially earlier than the return call from Leica.  When Leica sends a UPS label I don't believe insurance is included to cover the full value of the item.
