That is correct. The 28mm Lux (for whatever reason) does not come with the hood thread protection ring. Only with the filter thread ring, which is mounted on the lens from factory (and not hidden in the box).

I picked up a used 28 cron v2 that did not include a pouch or front filter ring. Aside from Leica Miami which hasn't had stock nearly 12 months, does anyone know where else I can source one? Anyone have a spare to sell?

Try contacting a Leica dealer, they should be able to source one for you. 

Maybe eBay or a local camera 2nd hand store if you can’t find elsewhere

Fair suggestion, I'll try casting a wider net. Definitely didn't find anything on ebay.

The hood and filter system of the 24/1.4 and 21/1.4 are awful. I would leave the hoods off if a ring was available to hold their respective filters in place.  When the 24 Summilux was discontinued I was told by my Leica dealer the spare hood and cap were also discontinued and out of stock.
