How does cosmetic condition affect the value of a lens?

The lens is utterly worthless. To get an idea of the importance of DOF in the forum, see this tread https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/273058-a-difficult-question-shooting-square/

Hmmm... ;-)... I just might be somewhat ¨overanxious¨ about keeping this lens made in only 500 copies (and representing Leicas first anodized alu attempt in 2008) as mint as possible. But probably just stupid.

There's no such thing as stupidity when it comes to retaining Leica lenses, in as good condition as you can.  If there'd been such a thing as a crystal ball, I'd be a richer man. My advice would be to keep any rarities especially, unless you really need the cash.

I much regret selling many, many Leica M lenses, over the years.  Viewed with the retrospectoscope of course! :)

This is very true, John, and I fully agree. I have a few lenses that I will likely never sell.

About my two lenses, I've given both a fair chance. I've had them for several years and put them up for sale more than once but then pulled the ads because I hesitated, in part since there was no financial reason to sell and in part because I was not sure if I didn't after all need the focal lengths. Now things have changed and I would be selling them because I wish to invest in new equipment which I need more.

Hi and thanks a lot! I fully align to your reasoning!

The very best,

Stein
