Hi, I will help shooting a wedding in a few weeks, and I was thinking of using my SL to do so. I think it will be a whole day affair and I was told to expect to take 1000-1500 images. So, for those of you that have experience with using the SL for events, how many batteries would you recommend having? I have two, but I am not sure if they will be enough.

Thanks

Add a third.

Maybe 2 batteries are enough for 1500, but if not you will be sorry. (I often get 600 to 700 from one battery).

Which lenses will you use ? Manual lenses need less, SL lenses more energy.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of using the 24-90 plus some Canon lenses with the adapter.

Add a third. For any sustained shooting: one in the camera, one in your pocket and (after you've exhausted the first) one in the charger.

Don't count on getting the maximum number of shots. In the heat of the battle anything can happen, like leaving the LCD on for an hour inadvertently.

Thanks! your back must be very strong! :-)

I started my training with a gripped 5dm3 and 200mm f2 :D

I'm wondering from memory how it compares with the 90-280 you now own?

As someone who loves optimal image quality, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the capability of the 90-280mm, it was the first zoom lens I bought in 5 years and I love it :)

They are both have excellent AF speed, but the zoom turned out to be a lot more useful to me than the 200mm f2.

I dreamt of using the 200mm f2 for outdoor portraits, and whilst this is something i've always wanted to do - i've never gotten round to it. It really does have a lovely subject isolation and bokeh
