NB23 Posted May 25, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted May 25, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I strongly suspect the 28mm elmarit asph V1 to have plastic components ala the 35cron V4. Â Am I wrong in thinking this?
Advertisement Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Hi NB23, Take a look here 28 elmarit asph - Plastic?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted May 25, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted May 25, 2017 What gave you that idea? And is that a bad thing? (It doesn't worry me if it has - I've used it enough to have my own, positive, opinion of it)
NB23 Posted May 25, 2017 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 25, 2017 What gave you that idea? And is that a bad thing? (It doesn't worry me if it has - I've used it enough to have my own, positive, opinion of it) Â Simply the genral feel. The slight feel I get when I handle the front part of the lens. Â Bad? I don't know. The summicron 28mm V1 was plagued (a feew batches it seems) with a front part wobbling issue that proved to be recurent despite Leica fixing it... and it doesn't seem to have plastic parts. So I guess it's not so important after all. Â But I am still curious.
Guest Posted May 25, 2017 Share #4 Â Posted May 25, 2017 Yep! Sold my 2/28 because of this problem. Buyer was fully informed but didn't care. Came to collect the lens personally, from England - during Karneval (Mardi Gras) - with his wife. Great people, good fun! Must be ages ago. PS Cron, Lux...less romantic to call lenses by their real name lol
lct Posted May 25, 2017 Share #5 Â Posted May 25, 2017 Aside from the focus tab, which remains to be proved, i'm not aware of plastic parts in the 28/2.8 asph. But i was not aware either about the 35/2 v4, so take what i say with a lump of salt.
