Different hole diameters in different body caps. Of cause original, NOT repainted black paint bodycaps have the least chromatic aberration. One of these things that probably keep professional photographers awake at night.

adli Posted May 30, 2017 Share #162 Posted May 30, 2017 Like many here I grew up with one lens due to financial constraints and fashioned my work within its perspective. I experienced no loss, no limits, and some joy. Today with no financial constraints I tend to suffer in the opposite degree - What lens shall I NOT use. Strange, is it not? I grew up with the Helios 58mm/2.0. Worked fine for many many years. Today I own 18/21/24/35/35/35/35/50/50//50/50/75/75/80/90/90/105-280 in Leica lenses (M and R), but I use 35 cron and 90 cron 95% of the time..... adli Posted May 30, 2017 Share #163 Posted May 30, 2017 The next question of course is, is one body all you need?

Exodies Posted May 30, 2017 Share #165 Posted May 30, 2017 The next question of course is, is one body all you need? Is one photo all you need or do you persist in taking picture after picture in the hope that some day a projection of three dimensions on to two will be, in any meaningful way, different from all the others? Ko.Fe. Posted May 30, 2017 Share #166 Posted May 30, 2017 Ko.Fe., please do not quote me out of context OR attribute statements to me that are entirely of your own manufacture! I used the expression "rubbish" directly and solely to a comment by NB23. Nothing else. You are the only one to use HCB and Winograd in the same sentence as "Rubbish". You quote John Free as using only one lens in his area of interest. So what! His area of interest was probably limited. No matter, his choice, and cannot be criticized for it. Jane Brown, whom you refer to, another single lens user for her specific field. Nothing wrong there. Formulaic work is done by many people. Finally, you take an oblique shot at me for using Hasselblad. Fire away. It is a moving target! I worked 120+ hours a week, 7 days, for years and years. The Hasselblad was an indispensable tool (which I still have) and at the time no other camera could serve my purpose as well. It was a working choice. The reason for me even referring to Hasselblad was simply to illustrate that that was where I learned my ability to select focal length to suit the work, not the other way round. I was wrong. Don't know how I let in HCB and GW, they are not Leica Forum members. I was under antibiotics and Tylenol influence. Today it is only antibiotics and I'll dare to try it again. I'll keep it only between Leica Forum members. First, I'm with OP. He wrote article where most of the images are taken with Leica RF. I came to this forum because Leica RF is all I currently need. Second, Ned, who wrote "We are defensive because this is Leicaaaaaaaaa!". If for some strange reasons someone will ask me to make choice which photo thread to keep at this Leica forum as the only thread with images, my only choice is Ned's photos. I'm not Ned fan, his photography has too much color by all means, while my cup of tee is black decaf tee and milk, no cream, no sugar. But Ned's photography here is Leica photography. And for the Bronze it is you and me. I'm not going to shot at you. Here is Soviet time joke about Western movies: "Why "Nobody can catch Joe is called as Nobody can catch Joe? Because he hasn't done anything". Changing lenses on Hasselblad is nothing new to me. I'm just like you spend years on taking different subjects with different focal length. Almost every day and for years. My photo was nominated by intentional jury and published in international photo magazine. I did election campaign photos for candidate who won. Some of my other photos and articles were stolen for commercial sites. And so on. But one day I stopped it all, sold my most professional device with flipping mirror and most of different focal lengths lenses and return where I was started as teenager. Family FED-2 with 50 lens. It was liberating. I find my way to get few Leica RF and finding what I don't need different lenses. Feel free to call it "Rubbish!" as well. I'm just a Joe, again.
pico Posted May 30, 2017 Share #167 Posted May 30, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) The next question of course is, is one body all you need? One is all you need if you have profession service from Leica. Extra $$$ to turn on their turn-around time machine. You will also require a local camera rental. More $$$. I just counted. Nine Leicas. I hate changing lenses.

NB23 Posted May 30, 2017 Share #169 Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) Hmmm... Mister Ned was joking. He is not defensive about Leica and doesn't really care about what people use. Funny how my tongue in cheek comments can come across as something else. What astonishes me is the that I come across as a color photographer despite showing 95% BW photography on instagram or on the net in general, except a few color bursts. likealot Posted May 31, 2017 Share #177 Posted May 31, 2017 Forget the 35 or the 50 or whatever. The best lenses you need with you wherever you go are your eyes.
mikemgb Posted May 31, 2017 Share #178 Posted May 31, 2017 Maybe 50 is all you need. Or not, I was shooting medium format last night using an 85mm.
michaelwj Posted May 31, 2017 Share #179 Posted May 31, 2017 Or not, I was shooting medium format last night using an 85mm. I find 35mm way too wide on a 4x5... Maybe love is all you need?
pico Posted May 31, 2017 Share #180 Posted May 31, 2017 (edited) I find 35mm way too wide on a 4x5... I think so! FWIW I am a wide angle enthusiast, although none of my own favorite work used exceptionally wide lenses. I do have a nominal 6x12cm camera with a Rodenstock Grandagon 35mm. WIDE! And useless to my stuff because my camera has no front rise. Edited May 31, 2017 by pico
