Thanx fellows. Not a subject that very many people give a damn about if they are not educated naturalists.

 

 

Not sure au pair is a very accurate analogy for a larval host plant. We sometimes get sightings of the Monarch here in the UK, usually assumed to have crossed the Atlantic though I suspect a number are more likely escapes from butterfly farms and the like (the butterfly is of course also known in the Iberian peninsula and Canary Islands).
