commandercup Posted May 4, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey all, When I carry my M6 behind my back (the strap lies across my chest), my strap rubs against the rewind knob and causes it to make a lot of noise. Is there any way to stop this from happening (aside from carrying the camera differently)? Thanks!

Michael Geschlecht Posted May 5, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 5, 2017 Hello Commandercup, Welcome to the Forum. What type of noise does it make?Best Regards, Michael
commandercup Posted May 5, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted May 5, 2017 Hi Michael! Thanks! The noise it makes is the sound of the rewind knob spinning. The strap literally pushes the knob back and forth and makes what amounts to a light rattling sound. It's not a huge problem, but it is a minor annoyance on an otherwise stellar camera. Michael Geschlecht Posted May 5, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 5, 2017 Hello Commandercup, Given all of the above: If you find the sound not to your liking, as well as the possible negative consequences of what is producing the sound: Why is it that you would not consider changing the place where you carry the camera? Best Regards, Michael
250swb Posted May 7, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 7, 2017 It shouldn't rattle. I suspect the spring that puts tension on the crank arm is worn and it's the crank arm rattling. Changing the rewind knob for a new one is a home DIY job.
wattsy Posted May 7, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 7, 2017 Reminds me of the old joke: Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I move my arm like this." Doctor: "Don't do it then."
