kabob Posted April 25, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys, I have spent a lot of time reading the forums and it is so informative! I am a Q user and sometimes Fuji, I want to get into the M system. I am lucky in that my camera shop in town has a chrome M10 on hold for me, I have till Wednesday to make a decision. I am debating between the M10 or a 262. In the grand scheme of things, $600 is not the end of world when we are taking about $5k+ cameras. However $600 could go to a lens instead. Since this will be the first M for me, I can't decide if I need the 10 or just go with a 262 for a while and see what I think and if I am really loving everything(which I do) I would probably end up with the 10. Would any of you guys go for the 262 over the 10? Thanks for reading!
Advertisement Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hi kabob, Take a look here M10/262. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tbonanno Posted April 25, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2017 I had the 262 and replaced it with the M10... GO WITH THE M10 ! The 262 is a nice M digital, but the M10 is vastly improved, especially the sensor. Don't waste your money or time with a 262 only to find yourself getting an M10 down the road. If you've got one on hold, you are very lucky indeed... It's a no-brainer. As much as I liked the 262, there is no way I'd go back to one.
jacktaka Posted April 25, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2017 I'm in the process of replacing the 262 with the M10. The major differences are going to be, in order of importance: 1) dramatically improved viewfinder on the M10 for wide lenses if you have glasses 2) higher ISOs on the M10 3) slimmer body If none of these things matter to you, then get a 262 perhaps. A used one is ~$3600 on fredmiranda whereas an M10 is $6900 after the price increase. If you're dead set on buying a NEW 262... then the price difference becomes very small and I would definitely go with the M10. A new 262 is basically losing $2000 of value the instant you press the order button.
1. M10 2. M10 3. M10 / 262 4. 262 das ist alles kind regards mike
M11 for me Posted April 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 25, 2017 Why would you go for an old produkt? I have difficulties to understand that. Unless Video is a must for you. The design of the M10 has been refined. It is the most beautiful M since the M6.
a.noctilux Posted April 25, 2017 Share #6 Posted April 25, 2017 Why would you go for an old produkt? I have difficulties to understand that. Unless Video is a must for you. The design of the M10 has been refined. It is the most beautiful M since the M6. M 262 has no video . Kabob, I use M 262 for more than one year now and M10 (along with other M ) two months. I don't have advice of choice, unable to choose which one: - M 262 is light and balance well with small lenses - M 262 has far better battery for more photos (something like three times the one in M10), so never need to have another battery in my amateur practice - the finder in M10 is better but not much the M 262 finder is already excellent - now if one day you need Liveview or EVF, M10 is very nice better M for that really usable - if 5f/s is useful for you (not me), then M10 - M10 is simple but not much than M 262 (only if you change ISO often) Sorry that I could not help for your choice.
