50 lux for SL is a great lens, its just a bit heavy.

I just don't want to spend so much money on a lens that gets part of its performance from software corrections in camera.  It doesn't seem like a wise long-term investment.  I'd rather buy M and R glass, especially since I can also use those lenses on my M.

When I bought my car 23 years ago I did not expect it, but over the years it has turned into a wise long-term investment. It gets cheaper every year, as maintenance is low.

Looking back I think digital is already saving me a lot of money - just adding up the money spent for films and slide processing  over the years ! And the gained time !

Everybody is nowadays using AF lenses - the electronics will not last as long as the pure mechanics of some old Leica lenses. But if they last for about 20 years, this is more than adequate.

I like using R and M glass, but it is not equal and also not a safe investment - just remember the time before the mirrorless cameras came and resurrected the old lenses. Prices were really low. Only collectors items kept their value, and only if they were in perfect (untouched) shape.

So would I buy my car again, today ? No because it is now an old car, and I would buy a new car if needed. And so I would not buy the old technologies anymore. What was wise then is not necessarily wise now.
