Advertisement Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hi Dave M, Take a look here Leitz Elmar 1.4/135 Leitz Wetzlar spare parts.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted April 10, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 10, 2017 I think the Hektor 135mm uses the same part, and I'm guessing someone took it off so it would fit in an earlier hard plastic case. The parts are the two screws, the mount and a backing piece that goes inside.
Dave M Posted April 10, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted April 10, 2017 It would be helpful if I knew the screw sizes I could probably machine the mount out of Aluminium thanks Dave.
Michael Geschlecht Posted April 10, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 10, 2017 Hello Dave, Welcome to the Forum. You might consider contacting the Parts Department in the Service Section of Leica in Wetzlar & asking them for the specifications. Best Regards, Michael
pico Posted April 10, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 10, 2017 It would be helpful if I knew the screw sizes I could probably machine the mount out of Aluminium thanks Dave. If I were not a broke tramp I would send you the parts you need, but you are a machinist. You can measure and make anything, from measuring your lens including the screws. Just how lazy are you? UliWer Posted April 10, 2017 Share #6 Posted April 10, 2017 I think pico is right: the Hektor's tripod mount was the same. You can easily get a Hektor for less than 100,-€, dismount the tripod mount and fix it to your Elmar.
pico Posted April 10, 2017 Share #7 Posted April 10, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) For 135mm lenses there were two tripod mounts: one for only 1/4" and another later for both 1/4 and 3/8". Yes, it took Leica a while to learn that could be so. The downside is that some of the early hard plastic 135mm cases only worked with the early 1/4" mounts. So who needs those plastic cases anyway? (Some had gold trim. Rather optimistic, no?)
Dave M Posted April 11, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted April 11, 2017 I have contacted Leica in London if I don't get any joy I will make the Mount just that i'm getting a lazy arse in my old age thanks Dave.
