jonatdonuts Posted March 30, 2017 Share #1  Posted March 30, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all,  I have been traumatised by clip on lens caps since a young age and would very much prefer to use the classic slip on metal caps of the Summarit 2.4 50mm range.  Does anyone know if it's possible to fit the Summarit metal cap onto the 35mm Summilux FLE since they're both of the same 46mm filter size?  If it doesn't fit right away, is it possible to screw in the Summarit 2.4 50mm outer filter onto the 35mm Summilux FLE then fit the lens cap on top of that?  If there's anyone with both lenses, kindly send pictures too. It would help me get over my trauma.  Regards

JohnnySeven Posted March 30, 2017 Share #2  Posted March 30, 2017 I love the clip on caps and hoods. What happened to traumatize you. Was it a cap attack? Where you hood winked?
ramarren Posted March 30, 2017 Share #3  Posted March 30, 2017 hmm.  I basically fit fixed, metal lens hoods to my lenses, take the front caps off, and fit them into tight little cubicles in my bag, hood down. I fit back caps to protect the rear element and bayonet flange. Saves a lot of hood and cap juggling...
lct Posted March 30, 2017 Share #4  Posted March 30, 2017 Both front lens caps of my Summarits 75/2.5 and 90/2.4 (# 14475) do fit on the Summilux 35/1.4 FLE. According to the price list below, the Summarits 35/2.4 and 50/2.4 share this same 14475 front lens cap. I have no experience with them though (only 35/2.5 & 50/2.5). https://store.leica-camera.jp/pdf/leica_price_list_170201.pdf  Welcome, dear visitor! jonatdonuts Posted March 31, 2017 Author Share #6  Posted March 31, 2017 I love the clip on caps and hoods. What happened to traumatize you. Was it a cap attack? Where you hood winked? Several years back when I was a curious young child with small fingers and a large, aggressive, clip on hood. I don't remember much - just incoherent flashbacks of pain and horror...
