Roofs, Ships and the Sea

The colours enhance the contrasts between land and sea, between flat structure of ships and waterlines against the cubicles of the houses. Therefore I like the coloured foto much more. Well done! Thanks for showing.

I like both ..

mabe the second could be more impressing with a smoother typ of contrast. It seems to be a little bit to harsh.

Andreas - Difficult choice...but I think I'd go for the b&w. In the color version, my eye is drawn immediately to the roofs - being red, they are to me a very dominant item. With the b&w, I 'see' a more complete scene; the textures of the buildings are more evident, and the ships on the sea are immediately more noticeable.

cheers:

Sam

Thank you all very much for sharing your opinion with me. It helped much to develop my own opinion on the two versions. Thanks.

Henry, Joachim, yes I worked much on the contrast saturation, but I was not sure whether over pace it.

Pete, no contest you are right ;)

Sam, I see it the way you do, the colour picture draws the view to the foreground. Today and after a while of considerations I think I am also with the B&W.

Best Regards,

Andreas
