Leica will find ways of supporting repairs fpr the camera for years to come. Just look at their track record for the M8/M9 and old film cameras. But, the difference with the Q is that it is probably more expensive to repair than other cameras, for example if something is wrong with the lens the whole lens assemly have to be swapped. And also, as it is a compact camera, it is probably more difficult and more time consuming to do repairs. But I highly doubt that 1: Leica will abandon this line of cameras as it is being so successful. And 2: I also highly doubt that Leica will leave a large number of customers out in the cold. It is not their way of doing business. Who knows, Leica might buy Panasonics camera division or TowerJazz or some other sensor manufacturer to continue doing their own sensors. I think they have more product lines at stake than the Q. So I doubt they will put themselves in the position of not having any sensors to deliver. So I would say. Don´t worry. What about spare parts? Leica have previously stated a commitment to provide spares support for 10 years after production ceases for any model. Leica have used OEM's many times - some of the R lenses were Minolta designs and most of the R line of cameras were re-engineered Minolta models. They only have ajoint venture in Japan with Panasonic, and a number of foundries all over the world in which Panasonic does not participate/ (http://www.towerjazz.com/fact-sheet.html) Further, I have lost track of the number of companies "restructuring" In most cases it means a reshuffling of the corporate structure and pruning away dead wood (read expensive staff) and selling off some bits and pieces to increase profitability.
