The good people at Wetzlar gave me a 24mm to test. I think I am in love. I really like this lens. I will post some photos in this thread.

Until now the 30mm has been my most used lens. I made some photos of the Fraumunster Church in Zurich with the 24mm, which I had also done previously with the 30mm. The additional angle of view of the 24mm is very useful in this kind of setting.

First photo follows.

Also Fraumunster, with the 24mm. Some vertical manipulation in Lightroom. This is where the LanTec would be useful.

Jeff,

Yes, and goodbye.

To everyone else, I'm one of those horribly unscientific people who has preferences about lenses that are independent of their most commonly quoted attributes (focal length and aperture). Instead, I care about how they render - draw - whatever. And whether I *like* the output. If a lens (and camera) provides more than its share of keepers or smiles or salable prints, then it's a good lens. The Canon 135/2L, 85/1.2L, and 70-200/2.8L, the CY Zeiss 21/2.8 Distagon, the SK 43XL, the 28 Cron, the Mamiya 7 43/4.5, the S 120 APO-Makro Summarit, and the 24 Super Elmar have all done that. Heck, all the S lenses, but those two in particular.

The 28 Cron used to be my favorite lens ever. The 24 Super Elmar knocked it out of first place.

My interest in this lens was sparked by your photos as well as the photos of others.

Love the S24mm, it's a wonderful lens on te S007 (and doubles as a wonderful "proper' 24mm FOV lens on the SL too, which is a good added bonus for us S  +SL shooters). That and the S35 are my most used two lenses on the S by a huge margin. Best,

Vieri

Outdoor shot, obviously. Handheld with S 006. Cropped for 1x2 panorama. I may have a swan sequence developing (pun intended).
