I am curious about what Steve Huff call "monochrome filter". I suppose there are some kind of setting that gives you Black and White direct from the camera? But to answer your question, its a quick and simple way to shoot B&W, and if you wants quick jpegs for some reason, its handy. Its also a good way to just view in B&W as you shoot. IronLion Posted March 25, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2017 The one area where I think that mode would be useful is for forcing a monochrome view through the EVF to aide in B&W composition.
