Sierratrekker Posted March 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess that even Leica can have a quality control problem. Received a new Q, picked it up and there was something loose inside. Never got past that......packed it up and shipped it back. Ordered another since I do love the camera. Never expected that. Advertisement Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Hi Sierratrekker, Take a look here Defective Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 24, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2017 I have seen posts that this is normal and nothing to worry about.
Voxen Posted March 24, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 24, 2017 You should have asked before sending it back. Your new Q will have the same behaviour, it's just the sound of the stabilizer floating element, nothing to worry about.
millsart Posted March 24, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 24, 2017 They all do that, its the lens elements used for optical image stabilization....jump to conclusions much ?
earleygallery Posted March 24, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 24, 2017 That was the bokeh you heard rattling around inside. If your Leica doesn't rattle it means you don't have bokeh.

Sierratrekker Posted March 25, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted March 25, 2017 Seriously, this is true. I believe you and the other posters. I had a Q, sold it and regretted it. I didn't recall anything loose in my previous camera so I guess I rushed to a judgement that there was something wrong with this one. My mistake. fcracer Posted March 25, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 25, 2017 I don't blame you, I almost did the same thing myself. It's a bit of a miss on Leica's part to not have some sort of locked resting position for the lens so that it doesn't rattle when off. It certainly doesn't jive with the rest of the camera's build quality and robustness.
