Surge Posted July 31, 2017 Share #21 Posted July 31, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had no difficulty focusing the Noctilux wide open with the M240 using the optical finder. You really just have to be careful. Perhaps a (very) small % of bodies should be calibrated; but I found mine to be perfectly fine without calibration. Advertisement Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hi Surge, Take a look here M10 with Nocti 50 0.95. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
evikne Posted July 31, 2017 Share #22 Posted July 31, 2017 Perhaps a (very) small % of bodies should be calibrated; but I found mine to be perfectly fine without calibration. Very reassuring to hear. After all you read in various forums, one can almost get the impression that calibration is necessary in most cases.

jlindstrom Posted August 14, 2017 Share #24 Posted August 14, 2017 I have the M10 and the Nocti 50/0.95. I find it to be much easier to focus accurately on the M10 than on my previous M262. The new & improved VF of the M10 is a big help. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Ozytripper Posted August 15, 2017 Share #25 Posted August 15, 2017 Hi All! Please advise your experienc of the combo M10 and Nocti 50 0.95, shooting with and without Optional EVF Visoflex 020. Have a nice weekend! Thank, Phongph! I find the combo to be way too heavy. Can only use it for a short period before getting uncomfortable. Focusing is ok with the Rangefinder but a bit more accurate with the EVF. Using the OVF I find it difficult to get focus on faces but anything with vertical lines are easy. Looking for a version 1 50mm F1.0 now, much lighter at 560 or 580g compared to 700g
Alo Ako Posted August 15, 2017 Share #26 Posted August 15, 2017 shooting with and without Optional EVF Visoflex 020. Shooting without EVF is like shooting in the dark: the 0.95 blocks your view by using the rangefinder. Otherwise you have to use liveview via backpanel. jlindstrom Posted August 15, 2017 Share #27 Posted August 15, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) ^ Guess it depends on who's shooting - I've never found it to be a problem. Using evf's however seems counterintuitive on a rf camera.
jlindstrom Posted August 15, 2017 Share #28 Posted August 15, 2017 I find the combo to be way too heavy. Can only use it for a short period before getting uncomfortable. Had the same problem, but then I got the Leica grip for my M10. That solved the issue for me. I think the fatigue issue came from having to squeeze the camera body so hard to maintain grip. Now with the Leica grip it's much more relaxed.
farnz Posted August 15, 2017 Share #29 Posted August 15, 2017 I have the f/1 Noctilux and I have very little problem hitting focus wide open using the M10's rangefinder. I find that I'm much faster with the rangefinder than the EVF because there's no need/temptation to magnify the image or use focus peaking to reassure myself that I've focussed on the pupil - this is important for the candid portraits that I enjoy taking. jaapv Posted August 16, 2017 Share #31 Posted August 16, 2017 Very reassuring to hear. After all you read in various forums, one can almost get the impression that calibration is necessary in most cases. Most cases that end up on forums, maybe. The vast majority that didn't need to calibrate will not report the non-issue on a forum.
