kengai Posted February 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) can you recommend a good strap for M-P240? More than the aesthetic interests me safety and comfort.

Peter Kilmister Posted February 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 28, 2017 I use the one supplied by Leica. It works.
Jean-Michel Posted February 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 28, 2017 I use the one supplied by Leica. It works. So do I. I don't think that there is much to improve on it. I have developed a method of wrapping it around my wrist that works just fine. JeanMichel
Steve Ricoh Posted February 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 28, 2017 I use the one supplied by Leica. It works. It should, but I've found the half split ring can work its way out of the camera lug. It's happened twice for me, but fortunately I caught it before the cam took a tumble. Either risk it yourself or change to a full keyring type. I don't think that you mean the strap that comes with the M9, M, MP, or even M6. None have spit rings; the metal attachment gets covered with a short sleeve. Totally safe. Steve Ricoh Posted March 1, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 1, 2017 I don't think that you mean the strap that comes with the M9, M, MP, or even M6. None have spit rings; the metal attachment gets covered with a short sleeve. Totally safe. I was referring to the strap that came with he M240. And yes it has a short sleeve covering the D shade-ring however from my experience no matter how securely the sleeve appears to be covering the ends of the D ring it can move upwards on the strap, allowing the D ring to rotate and become detached from the camera lug. It nearly happened twice for me, but fortunately I noticed this before the camera became detached with the obvious outcome. I've since removed the original Leica strap and moved to something more secure.

Gregm61 Posted March 3, 2017 Share #11 Posted March 3, 2017 The leather straps being sold by Tamarkin are quite nice. Very supple and the way they connect do not rub wear marks into the bumpers like the plastic guards on the Leica-provided straps do. I thought they might be uncomfortable since they do not include a shoulder pad, but in use they're quite nice. I started out with a black leather for my M262 and would up buying a second in brown to use with my M-9P.
