Roger Pellegrini Posted February 22, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2017 Your best bet is to send it to Japan. There is a company there that does a phenomenal job.

gbealnz Posted July 17, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 17, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Another firm: https://www.cameraworks-uk.com/ I considered buying a specific camera and sending to them, no affiliation whatsoever, but they were prompt and courteous with e mail. I feel that one day I will get an M2 or similar painted by Alan. Gary

wlaidlaw Posted July 17, 2018 Share #9 Posted July 17, 2018 I was going to buy a rough M3 and get it rebuilt and repainted by Alan Starkie at Cameraworks UK, either Durakote® black or Bundeseigentum Olive along with a 2.8 Elmar, painted to match. However while looking, I came across this immaculate M3 with a nice 2.8 Elmar mounted at a reasonable price and could not resist. It is currently trickling its way across Europe at a snails pace to me in France, in the hands of DHL. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted July 18, 2018 Share #11 Posted July 18, 2018 If it's not a secret, what is the value of this real treasure?) I paid €1050 plus postage for the body and lens combined. It is a lens I did want to my collection, which is nice. This is unlike my previous purchase of an M4-P with MR-4 and M4-2 winder, where the seller threw in a Thin 90 Tele-Elmarit for free. This lens is just not needed, as I already have the later and slightly better 90 Elmarit-M, so I will just sell off the Tele-Elmarit. Anything I get for it is a bonus. I even found I had a spare 12585 hood and cap for the Tele-Elmarit in my bag of assorted Leica hoods and lens caps, albeit the hood and cap are probably worth more than the lens.
