ldhrads Posted February 21, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Our daughter is currently volunteering at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium in Fort Myers Florida. This Female bald eagle was shot and lost most of her left wing so will not survive in the wild. We had the luck to be there yesterday in the late afternoon when she was fed! Beautiful creature, quite majestic even missing half a wing! M9-P APO 50/2.0 ASPH Welcome, dear visitor! ldhrads Posted February 23, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted February 23, 2017 We have a fair number of bald eagles in Florida, it's always disturbing to see these magnificent animals injured. Of course, this is a sanctuary for injured animals or others that for some reason can't be returned to the wild.
N/NW Posted February 24, 2017 Share #9 Posted February 24, 2017 Seeing it's a federal crime to harm these birds, I hope the shooter is caught. Glad the bird survived.
