Our daughter is currently volunteering at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium in Fort Myers Florida. This Female bald eagle was shot and lost most of her left wing so will not survive in the wild. We had the luck to be there yesterday in the late afternoon when she was fed! Beautiful creature, quite majestic even missing half a wing!

We have a fair number of bald eagles in Florida, it's always disturbing to see these magnificent animals injured.  Of course, this is a sanctuary for injured animals or others that for some reason can't be returned to the wild.
