I could not seem to find an example online, but have found myself a Leica M-P240 with the 100th Year anniversary engraving. I would just like to ask if the engraving is authentic, or if it was added on afterwards :)

I thnk its added. The body u r showing is MP

As far as i know only 240 of black and 240 of silver on M240 were done. I don't remember or have heard or seen any MP-edition done for 100 anniversary edition

Thank you for the input. I presume that this was a custom order model from the Leica store here. Or at least I would like to think that it is :/

Maybe you can contact Leica with the serial number?

I have a 100year edition (black M240) and the logo is the same color and quality as the rest of the print on the camera, yours looks a bit more yellow and washed out but maybe that's the picture.

Thank you. I have emailed leica and hopefully will get a response soon. The paint of the 100 in some light is a little yellow, and in some light white like the leica engraving. It seems to have to be officially or professionally done, the lines are too clean to be an amateur job. But I will wait for the response from Leica.

There is nothing that internet don't have... now its becoming more of a mission. Let me get back and lets get to bottom of this.

Why would leica send u link with nothing on it saying about MP-100 edition.

And if there is why we r not able to find it when we search[emoji53]

Okkkk now we got to bottom of this. ASAP its a good news:

The camera you got is La Kart Custom made (more special then normal 100 edition) [emoji4][emoji106]

These were done on special order for Hongkong i believe. Here is youtube video of one unboxing. This will clear all for us. Enjoy ur special of special limited amongst limited camera. And take good care of it. Keep it very safe and it will for sure go very high up in market. If I were you I will look for an ordinary M – P and use that as a main camera and keep this one for special locations you got a really lucky deal my friend hold on to it very happy for you[emoji4][emoji4]

Hi Hamad, Thank you looking it up for me! I personally couldnt find it myself but it seems you have far better research skills than me :D

I want to get it destroyed! Take it everywhere, use it in the rain, it will be fitting for a 100 year anniversary camera :)

Around 1976 or 1977 Mark's Photo in Grand Rapids Michigan had two 50 Jahre black chrome M4 cameras with consecutive serial numbers. I had recently purchased a new black chrome M4. I was horrified that the cost of the 50 Jahre had gone up to US$600 from $550 for my black chrome M4. I knew at the time I should buy those two M4's and put them away. Oh, well. Best of luck with that 100 Jahre M-P type 240. (Yes, I still have that black chrome M4. Yay.)
