Advertisement Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Hi Bill Livingston, Take a look here Who is waiting for the M10-P. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted July 28, 2017 Share #82 Posted July 28, 2017 I already have an M10-P for testing...Just kidding! A little bit of photoshop work shows how it could look in real life. Sometimes, small differences do matter and I think it looks really great! I probably gonna wait until it is released and then see, if it is worth the cost. For me, an electronic shutter and mechanical 1/8000 shutter speed would be all I wanted. file:///var/folders/f5/s2x66x596ll05sslg66k3mxr0000gn/T/Leica%20M10-P%20Mockup%20Final.jpg How do I upload photos to the forum? jsjxyz Posted July 29, 2017 Share #83 Posted July 29, 2017 I have the mm1 and m-p 240, my next upgrade would be either: mm3 (m10m) to replace my mm1 or m10p to replace my m-p240 I shot 90 % in BW

a.noctilux Posted July 31, 2017 Share #86 Posted July 31, 2017 I prefer plain M10 then. Never like that big flat P- screw and no marking on top plate is cleaner for me.

I could then keep it ‘forever’ as my digital M4
coupdefoudre Posted July 31, 2017 Share #88 Posted July 31, 2017 I prefer plain M10 then. Never like that big flat P- screw and no marking on top plate is cleaner for me. simon-hsn: It is true that the big screw in place of the red logo is a move from one undesirable red splotch to an ugly feature. But, I wonder if a new P model would have the screw, which as I understand it is an adjustment mechanism. I write this as there is only a hole with some mechanics a bit removed, back from the hole, under the red dot on the M10. I cannot understand why Leica does not use a flat-head screw in that space instead of the rounded one that protrudes from the surface. As to buying a P model. I bought the M-P 240 for the tougher LCD screen, the larger buffer and the framelines lever. I suppose the harder screen is nice if I ever bang the camera hard enough. I've never run out of buffer because I do not take pics where I use continuous shooting (OK, I have taken 3 shots in sequence a few times.) I do use the framelines preview lever on occasion but generally know what field of view I will get with 28, 35, 50 and 75mm so if this is ever dropped from the body again it is not a deal-breaker. (I also have the Tri-Elmar WATE and know it just gets everything at 16mm!) So far I don't really know what Leica might add to the M10 to make a P. Oh, and finally, I do very much dislike the whole idea of having to pay extra for another camera bearing features that ought to have been on the model in the first place. It seems a cheesy way to reward customer loyalty, despite Leica knowing they can do most anything and still sell cameras.

Guest Posted August 1, 2017 Share #90 Posted August 1, 2017 Previously, I bought an M9-P when my first M9 went to the dogs mainly for the sapphire glass LCD. Now, with the gorilla glass on the M10, I don't see the point of an M10-P. Although I'm not crazy about the red logo, I don't mind hiding it with black electrical tape. And I was never crazy about the writing in white lettering on the top plate; but, then I also prefer the black chrome of the M10 to the glossy black paint of the M-9P — in addition to the glossy look, the black paint always felt sticky in the heat and humidity of the tropics: the black chrome feels much better in these conditions. _______________ Alone in Bangkok essay on BURN Magazine
Maggie_O Posted September 7, 2017 Share #91 Posted September 7, 2017 Chrome, with script on the top = Leica M. For me, it always will. My M2 and M4-P are seared in my brain as "Leica."
Joshua Lowe Posted September 7, 2017 Share #92 Posted September 7, 2017 Definitely interested in an M10-P in black, preferably paint vs. chrome.
