M10 Monochrom 1 or 2 years??

If the M240 -> M246 interval is any guide, it'll be late in the M10 lifecycle before an M10-based Monochrom is released.  Something between two and three years.

I'd love to think the M10M might be released sooner, but there's nothing in previous history to suggest it will.  Alas.

Leica's history with the M9 and M-240 generations has been M --> M-P --> Monochrom.  With the new M-10 generation, I think the "M-P" version is going to be a more difficult sell because there's no big ugly "M" on the front of the M-10, the red dot is somewhat normal sized and there is a frame line selector.  So to entice people - black paint?  sapphire screen cover?  Not sure that's enough this time around.  Maybe Leica will change things up?

So for those of us who want a Monochrom and will be ready to buy in the 6-12 month time frame, what do we do?  Get the Monochrom 246?  Or wait for the M10 Monochrom??
