Rick Posted January 26, 2017 Share #21 Posted January 26, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't think the M10 needs these speeds either. But, we will be able mouse the download speeds to the computer as time goes on. Rick
Advertisement Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Hi Rick, Take a look here SD Card compatibility issue?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
chris_tribble Posted January 26, 2017 Author Share #22 Posted January 26, 2017 Lexar 64GB SD XCII 2000X (300MB/s) work just fine. I don't have the 633 card to test. I assume you tried them in another camera to verify the card doesn't have an issue? Yes - perfect today in the M-240 and earlier in the SL.
Rick Posted January 26, 2017 Share #23 Posted January 26, 2017 Chris - Think I figured out the problem. Your M10 doesn't mind that the card has been used in the M240. But, I had my M10 on the night stand last night and we were talking... my M10 said it would not want a card in it that was used in that dirty, bloated SL either. Hope this helps, Rick
steppenw0lf Posted January 27, 2017 Share #24 Posted January 27, 2017 Many would love to have your problems ..... The cards are so cheap, simply use them once and put them into your archive. About fast cards: The most performance is needed for writing video (4k video). This is the max a camera produces. The speed of 4k video is writing with about 30 MB/s. (this is the definition of UHS-II) As we all know the M10 does not even have video.... So a card with "95MB/s" written on it (this is actually reading performance) is plenty fast. Only your computer can use the higher speeds, but if you measure it, it is typically not more than about 70 MB/s .
cookedart Posted January 27, 2017 Share #25 Posted January 27, 2017 I also have found a Transcend 128gb UHS-3 95mb/s SDXC card is not recognized in the camera.
chris_tribble Posted January 27, 2017 Author Share #26 Posted January 27, 2017 Thanks - It's going to be helpful if we early adopters log any issues. It may be that a firmware fix is needed - or that Leica gives a clear recommendation of cards to avoid... Must be a nightmare for them as there are so many out there! }{B Posted January 28, 2017 Share #29 Posted January 28, 2017 I have two new and unused cards awaiting my M10 but I was wondering if it was advisable to reformat cards I had previously used in my M-E. Given their lower capacity and cost I'd rather scrap them than risk losing shots if reusing them problematic.
waterlenz Posted January 28, 2017 Share #30 Posted January 28, 2017 I have two new and unused cards awaiting my M10 but I was wondering if it was advisable to reformat cards I had previously used in my M-E. Given their lower capacity and cost I'd rather scrap them than risk losing shots if reusing them problematic. I always reformat a card in the camera I will be using it in. As well, I reformat the card in that camera after uploading the card contents onto my computer HD. These guidelines have been stated many times over in the last decade or so on the internet. chris_tribble Posted January 28, 2017 Author Share #31 Posted January 28, 2017 Mine were reformatted with SD formatter before use in the M10. The 64GB card wasn't recognised so it couldn't be formatted again in camera which would have been my normal process. Same issue with two identical cards - both off which still work fine in the M240. Odd..
cookedart Posted January 29, 2017 Share #32 Posted January 29, 2017 One more thing we might want to add to this discussion is what firmware version of the camera you're running. I have a Sandisk Extreme 64GB 60Mbs/s UHS-3 card I'm using flawlessly in the camera now. I'll test out as many cards as I can in the near future. I'm running firmware 1.0.2.

Odd.. Does the hardware of the computer support SDHX cards? If not, the software of the computer will not be able to properly format the card and other devices which do support SDHX will not be able to use the improperly formattet card. chris_tribble Posted January 29, 2017 Author Share #34 Posted January 29, 2017 Good question - however, I'm using the Lexar Pro USB3 card (http://www.lexar.com/products/card-readers/Lexar-Professional-USB-3-Dual-Slot-Reader.html). This "supports CompactFlash® (including UDMA 7), SD, SDHC™, SDXC™**, and SD UHS-I and UHS-II card formats" So not a problem there...

I am using this Lexar reader too with Lexar SD HC II 16GB cards rated at 150MB/s. No issues with either the SL or the demo M10.

UNO Posted January 31, 2017 Share #37 Posted January 31, 2017 I have tested with 3 memory card. But below cards do not work with M10. ---------------------------------------- Sony 64GB SDXC : SF-64UX2 Samsung 64GB SDXC : SDXC Class10 Pro UHS-I Samsung 16GB SDHC : SDHC Class10 Pro UHS-I of course, these cards work well with M240. Guest Posted January 31, 2017 Share #38 Posted January 31, 2017 Some earlier M's were limited to 32BG SDHC cards and 2GB SD cards. So the new M10 may fall into that category. That might explain why your 64Gb is not working and your 32GB card is. I used my Samsung 64MB PRO SDXC 1 Class 10 without an issue on the M10, I forgot even to format it, so there were a load of images already on it taken with the SL. I could see by date taken the M. When I installed the card my Mac recognised it as LEICA M. All images are playable in the SL, but the card when put back in Mac is shown as LEICA M.
