Using the old 135 Elmar f/4 on a tripod. When examining the image for what I at first thought were some dust spot on the sensor, I found ten birds and two jet planes. They were so far in the distance I wasn't even aware they were there as I was using live view to check focus. While not dramatic in this picture, and especially as a jpeg, it was fun to see their wings and find they weren't a dirty sensor. Adding a detail of the birds.

The more I scrolled up, to type in a response, the more I liked your photo.  I stopped with the tree line 1/3 of the way up.  To my eyes, that made it all that much nicer.  Awesome about the birds, in your blow-up I can barely see the black specks, yes, with wings!!!  I wonder how much it costs to buy an old model of that lens.....     I'm impressed!!!

thanks Mike, my example is the tele-elmar f/4... I'd guess they go between $300 - 500 these days, depending on condition. I got mine back in my film days and was always impressed. I never had much luck with it on my M9. I used it a bit on a Fuji and it worked well on the X-E2.

A second image hiking down the Grand Canyon, this one with a longer 75mm Summarit 2.4 lens at f9.5 and 1/125 shutter speed ISO 200.  We were a bit over half way down, I shot my hiking colleague to give a sense of perspective and appreciation of the views.   Our next stop was to descent the inner gorge shown further ahead down to the bottom.  During early March, temperatures are quite pleasant.

Good morning

I have been away from Leica for a few years, had a large S kit for quite a while but moved on, now back with my first M, a lovely M10-P that I am enjoying a lot. A couple of quick shots whilst testing the M under lights, nothing serious just seeing how the files process and handle different lighting setups.
