matlep Posted January 19, 2017 Share #21 Posted January 19, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am neither disappointed nor surprised. As I noted in another thread were I looking to buy a camera today I'm not sure I'd buy the M10. I can see that it would be reasonable to choose between the M240, the Mono, the M-D or the M10. But i cant see why anyone would choose the M262? What does it offer that the others don´t? All the other cameras offers something the M262 does not have. Advertisement Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Hi matlep, Take a look here M9.5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marchyman Posted January 19, 2017 Share #22 Posted January 19, 2017 What does it offer that the others don´t? You have it backwards. Why should I pay for things that do not interest me? The differences between the 262 and the other cameras are not things that I care about and are therefore not worth the extra cost. If I cared about the "missing" features I'd have bought one of the other cameras. In comparing the 262 to the 10, for example, I find some of the additional features negatives -- a reason to NOT buy the camera.

Curious on what you find negative with the M10 compared to the M262?
marchyman Posted January 20, 2017 Share #24 Posted January 20, 2017 Battery size, for one. WiFi is another. I prefer the larger battery and have, on other cameras, accidentally turned on WiFi which had a drastic impact on battery life. I don't use or care about live view with the M. If it was a "free" option I'd take it, but it is not. $6595 for the M10 and $5395 for the M 262. Edit: removed comments regarding video which the M10 also does not have
enboe Posted January 20, 2017 Share #25 Posted January 20, 2017 No, no, no! You have it all wrong. It's not the M10 (M-ten), it's the MIO (mio all in capital letters. MIO translates to, "my own". My own Leica! Eric P.S. Didn't get one in the first shipment, so I guess it's not my own camera yet.
