There's one of hell of a story there, not sure what it's about but it had to be wild!

Here is the (sad-)story:  there are many migrant workers in Singapore, easily 1 million of them.  They are mostly from India & Bangladesh, working in mainly marine shipyards and construction industry in Singapore.  They live in the dormitories where drinking liquors are not allowed generally.  Every weekend, these migrant workers would gather at Tekka (aka Little India) where they hang out at the park or roadsides there and drink beers/liquors to the heart content.  Some of them just dozed off after drinking liquor, like what is shown in the picture.  It is quite a sorry sight.

Looking for suggestions or what others have done to solve this issue:

I purchased an old Helios 44-2 (58mm f2) M42 mount lens. There are plenty of M42 to M mount adapters on the market. However, the lens itself is not directly mounted to the camera so the correct frame lines this case 50mm as the closet will not appear in the viewfinder. With my Leica M10-R this will not be an issue as I have Liveview; however, I don't have a "liveview" screen on my film cameras.  What do any of you do when you mount an LTM (M39) or M42 to your film camera? Also is there a specific mount adapter that is better or more compatible with an M mount film camera? (Not also have SLR's but this is not an issue with them.)

Thanks.

Hi, this is a picture thread so as the OP I would be grateful if you would very kindly take your query to a separate (new?) thread in the M Lenses subforum so we can continue posting pictures from older lenses please?

To try to answer your question (but please don't reply here) this is the same problem with any non-rangefinder-coupled lens so you basically have two options:

  1. Where available use LiveView to compose and focus (as you already do), or
  2. Use the frame lever to switch to the appropriate frame lines and zone focus.

Pete.
