yorda@ Posted May 11 Share #14945 Posted May 11 Pretty impressive for such a tiny lens. would be interesting to see a shot at f1.3 and let say around f1.7 to see the amelioration. i feel f1.6-F1.8 is such a sweetspot on the Apoqualia. For my own education, I was planning to do a comparison of the Apoqualia and the Apollon (two of Miyazaki's best IMO) at some indefinite point in the future... When I do, I'll make sure to post any relevant findings here. I wouldn't expect a massive difference in rendering between these lenses, which share the same 6e/4g optical formula. In addition to being very marginally faster and able to focus a bit closer, the Apollon is a couple of mm shorter, has two more aperture blades and feels a tad more refined. Both lenses behave similarly to the pre-ASPH Summilux 35/1.4, with a glowy character that disappears as soon as you stop down a bit. Meanwhile, here's another one with the Apollon 36/1.3 wide open on the M11M: Welcome, dear visitor! Ecar Posted May 11 Share #14948 Posted May 11 And one for Sunday evening giggles. This was me on one of those deck chairs last summer. Or rather my right foot, doing what it was originally designed to do: serve as a focus point for checking lenses at MFD and showing off their bokeh...😉 Same camera and lens as above, wide open Welcome, dear visitor! Popular Post farnz Posted May 12 Author Popular Post Share #14955 Posted May 12 I would like to mark that this thread has just passed 15,000 posts. When I started the thread in 2012 I never imagined that it would last so long or encourage so many posts so it is thank you from me to everyone who has so kindly contributed by sharing their pictures but a massive thank you to the members who post regularly and are the life-blood of the thread. (You know who you are so I won't embarrass you by singling you out.) This thread has become a valuable visual resource for anyone who wants to understand how a particular older lens renders and I've received comments from the most unusual and unexpected places, both from within the forum and from from wider web so the thread's worth is still growing. Please continue to post your pictures as set out in the opening post and thank you, thank you, thank you! Pete. To start us off in the next 15,000 posts here's a picture from one of my favourite lenses: Rollei 40/2.8 Sonnar HFT with M10. Welcome, dear visitor!
