To paraphrase the opening of The Shamen's biggest hit (for those old enough to remember Ebeneezer Goode😉): glowy, glowy, very glowy...

Same camera and lens as above, also wide open

very interesting F2.0 - Contax-Tessar?

And here is what the lens looks like after conversion (apologies for phone shot) - the original helicoid can be used for close focus with EVF once the RF MFD limit has been reached through the modern one:

I doubt that more than a handful of people will be interested, but following an interesting PM exchange with @Biotar (thank you for this!), it turns out that the prototype Tessar 50/2 above may actually have been made in 1949, not 1954.

Here's my first shot with an another obscure, intriguing one, with practically no information available. Probably manufactured in very low numbers. I have been able to identify two versions, both in LTM: one with serials in the 598 range, beautifully built, chrome on brass (very similar to the 28/5.6 Summaron) BUT uncoupled; the other version, with serials in the 993 range, is made in the whitish aluminium alloy frequently seen on German lenses of the fifties AND is rangefinder coupled. My copy, which I recently found in a local estate sale, is uncoupled. Unless it can be easily and non-destructively converted, which might be possible by the looks of it, I will keep it in its original condition and will use the EVF to focus. No idea what camera(s) this lens was intended for. It doesn't appear to be particularly watertight and - besides an unusually fast focus fall-off, which seems to be typical for lenses made for similar applications - any optical optimisation for underwater picture taking doesn't seem to have a significant effect on its capabilities in a breathable environment.

M11 + 195X Staeble Underwater Ultra Wide 28/3.5 LTM (uncoupled), wide open

Couple more illustrative shots from this odd lens. Same camera and lens as above, both wide open at or near MFD.

M10 + Minolta MC W Rokkor 28mm f/2.0
This Rokkor is quite large compared to the Summicron 28mm. I am surprised it's such a colourful and sharp jewel. In this photo, the focus is on the green bush at f2.0
