I've never used (nor even seen 'in the flesh') a Xenon but I do have the later Summarit version of the lens and was astonished to discover, contrary to much of what I'd read previously, that it is a superbly sharp performer once stopped-down a bit. From the evidence of your photograph seen here the Xenon is equally superb. Very handsome feline as well! Philip. 3

pippy Posted March 30, 2022 Share #8942 Posted March 30, 2022 Having seen JMF's photograph of his(?) cat I decided to bring down the Summarit and give it an outing. Here is 'Scrap' being ever-vigilant in our front room her native jungle habitat (in her head). M Monochrom, 1953 50mm f1.5 Summarit (M), 1/250 f2 @ ISO 320; Welcome, dear visitor! I believe this above photo was taken at about f2 1/2 / f2.8, quite an impressive lens from 1937 ! That one was taken at f1.5 on the same 5cm Xenon and M10M: Welcome, dear visitor! Hello, Jean-Marc, and thank you for both the aperture info and for posting the second image of the (beautiful) cat. Yes; it certainly is a wonderful performer! I suspect that many of the negative comments made about these Xenon / Summarit lenses were written by people who have not had access to a clean, scratch-free copy. Thanks again! Philip.
