M9 & Summilux pre asph 1979

F1.4

F2.8

crop about 100%:

not the sharpest lens, but gives a very "friendly" overall rendering (colors, contrast, softness, glow, resolution in the corners)

M9 & Summicron 50 1982

For the Summicron, I'd say "elegance". A fine mix of resolution, character and color.

Lovely photo of the Menai Bridge, Paul. I am usually heading to or from Holyhead when I cross this. I must leave a little more time on the next occasion that I am passing and try to get a shot. A sunset to the West would be the icing on top.

Summilux 35 pre ASPH V1 (1966, for M3) on Leica M9 with Polaroid (Series VII) Factor 2.5 ND filter.

180 ISO EXIF says F4.8 @ 1/2000 s after conversion from DNG - anyone's guess.

No flare - well done! Difficult with this lens.

I find it behaves fairly well at f/8 but wide open it flares like crazy, which I like to have as 'a tool in the box' for particular subjects.
