Advertisement Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Hi meatboy, Take a look here I love my MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
abrewer Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share #122 Posted February 10, 2007 PS: Apologies that this image was not taken with a Leica - but a Leica is the subject, does that get me a pass? No problem, as the subject is Leica-related, even if taken with somebody else's product. Thanks. Allan
edlaurpic Posted February 10, 2007 Share #123 Posted February 10, 2007 Marc - I want a "Silver is Super" T-shirt! On my way out of Detroit I started talking with Sam about a silver MP3 kit. By the time I got home, with a couple of interim follow-up calls at airports along the way, I bought it. Of all of the special series Leicas, this one, with its retro but practical 50 Summilux ASPH, deserves to be a user. Ed

Maciel Posted February 11, 2007 Share #125 Posted February 11, 2007 Hey, I think I'll make a t-shirt with that on it. Cool for all you grey haired Leicaphiles also : -) No grey, but I will have a shirt. Andreas Silver M3 Silver M6 Silver MP
Photoskeptic Posted February 11, 2007 Share #126 Posted February 11, 2007 Wow, Paul. You've got brassing in places I've never seen brassing! That must be some thin paint. The black paint Leica M I had never showed anything near like what you have. And it couldn't have been deliberate, right?
lincoln_m Posted February 11, 2007 Share #127 Posted February 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, All these lovely pics of MPs got me to save the pics in a file so I can run a slide show. The different lenses also add to the mix. I'm beginning to want the Summilux 35 and 50mm lenses really badly. The Black paint MP also look very sexy but the brassing seems to happen so quick. I like Silver lenses but the extra 4oz weight each lens when travelling can be off putting on long hikes. I'll show my MP taken with the Leica lens on a Panasonic FX8. illuminatus Posted February 12, 2007 Share #128 Posted February 12, 2007 I have a chrome MP and I want silver crons. Finally, I found a 90mm Apo/ASPH cron and the crome cron trinity is complete! Don't mind the extra weight because I never had black lenses to start with.

Regards, Lincoln I'm also looking to get the 35mm but the ASPH cron. I also have a use for something superwide like the VC 15mm. My 50mm cron is chrome and while I agree its a bit weighty, while I only have one lens it does not really bother me.
lincoln_m Posted February 14, 2007 Share #130 Posted February 14, 2007 Tim, I'm lucky enough to have the 35 f2 asph in chrome. There are some 35f2 asph black/chrome available in the UK occasionally. It is really good to see shots of the various M lenses especially the summilux-asphs as you do not get to see them in the shops because they are usually on order. even at Leica in UK they did not have the 50 f1.4 asph to show me. rob_x2004 Posted February 15, 2007 Share #132 Posted February 15, 2007 I love that the shutter speed dial is smaller and back from the leading edge of the camera body so that you can roll through shutter speeds while your finger joint is still able to use the shutter release. richard robles Posted February 16, 2007 Share #134 Posted February 16, 2007 I just saw, for the first time, a Leica MP at my local shop. It is without a doubt, the best looking Leica I have seen in years. If I was in a position to buy a Leica, the MP would be my camera of choice. WHAT A CLASSIC!!!!!! it's part of me everyday;)

pemayeux Posted February 16, 2007 Share #136 Posted February 16, 2007 Wow, Paul. You've got brassing in places I've never seen brassing! That must be some thin paint. The black paint Leica M I had never showed anything near like what you have. And it couldn't have been deliberate, right? No it didn't need any help to start brassing. I've never kept it in a case, it's spent it's life bouncing around in my old pickup or hanging around my neck. I wish I had kept count of how many rolls of film I have shot with it. The paint does seem rather thin. Now that I have the M8 I will send the MP in for a CLA. There is so much dust in the viewfinder it is getting hazy. lincoln_m Posted February 20, 2007 Share #138 Posted February 20, 2007 Nice strap. I notice the protective leather to stop the body being rubbed. Where do you get the strap? Luigis? You can see my MP has rub marks from the plastic clip on the Leica Neoprene strap. The M6TTL and M7 have plastic side pieces to avoid this build up of character and history but a leather protecting strap may be a better solution. My Leica M everyready case cased the ware on the body near the frame selector. Now I'm at mint - or Exc+++ perhaps, not that I plan to ever sell the MP. flavio Posted February 20, 2007 Share #139 Posted February 20, 2007 Wonderful pictures of wonderful MP. Martin's MP on the wood is really lovely. Congratulations everybody indeed. I use an M4 with venerable 21 f:3.4 Super Angulon and 50 f:2 Summicron. I really enjoy this outfit, though would love add one MP and even one M3. I wonder: how much time I'll be able to use film cameras? Please reassure me, if you can. Otherwise I'll go for one lovely M8, but something will change. PATB Posted February 20, 2007 Share #140 Posted February 20, 2007 Nice strap. I notice the protective leather to stop the body being rubbed. Where do you get the strap? Luigis? The strap is an Artisan and Artist neckpad strap.
