leicaoptik Posted March 10, 2009 Share #981 Posted March 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought a Leicavit, regular, for my MP3. As it is without the "Leicavit MP"- lettering on the front, the MP3 still looks like a black queen with no hint for a label. I had the chance to get the leicavit for just a "tip" of money, lucky me. I can say, that the haptic is better now, even when the lens attached on the body is heavy. I have a saver grip, the rewinding is faster and I like the mechanical perfection, as it still works without batteries... Where can U find a winder like that in times of low energy resources? I recommend the leicavit- the regular one if U do not want attracting attention, the MP3 one if U get it and if U think U need the special engraving... Thanks Robert Hi Robert, there are altogether 1000 pieces (500 black and 500 silver), 125 of them are solitary, Leicavit, objective or body, sold, (375 sold as sets). batmobile Posted March 11, 2009 Share #987 Posted March 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some things are just made for each other: MP and Tri-X. As much as I love TriX, it matches the MPs soul, but not the lenses' performances. Neopan 400 is far better in this (resolution) regard, but of course not everyone likes the tonality - I do; still looks traditional with a great range of greys and tonnes more detail. First time I saw hand held delta 100 negs shot on my MP (with ZMs or Leica lenses) and developed in Xtol 1+1, I was struck dumb for a while. In mixed Xtol and Rodinal things get nice and crisp too! antistatic Posted March 11, 2009 Share #988 Posted March 11, 2009 Mine has had a recent change of diet from Tri X to Plus X partly due to the bright Australian summer sun. I really like the Plus X tonality. I develop both in Tmax developer.
JBA Posted March 11, 2009 Share #989 Posted March 11, 2009 Mine are omnivorous. They are about to go on a diet of Velvia 50 and Ilford PanF. I'm also putting in an order for some Kodachrome.
peter_n Posted March 11, 2009 Share #990 Posted March 11, 2009 My last big batch was TMax 400, but only because the local pro lab uses Tmax developer. Not enough grain in it for me. We're coming out of winter here (TG) so soon it will be time to start using some of my Agfapan 100 stash.
PATB Posted March 11, 2009 Share #991 Posted March 11, 2009 that's cool, how long do you need for this lot? I used that lot for a two week family vacation I took last year. Regarding Tri-X, I am feeling a little guilty as I have been experimenting with T-MAX 400 and Delta 400, and I think I am liking the Delta 400 But such is the life of a film photographer, lots of "sensors" to choose from! MPerson Posted March 12, 2009 Share #992 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) What do you guys feed yours? From my post on an earlier thread about film usage for 2008. Leitzmac Posted March 12, 2009 Share #993 Posted March 12, 2009 Can you hear that? Shhhh, just a moment, listen carefully... that's the siren call of an MP! Oh dear, I fear it's only a matter of time before I'm able to post a picture of and some pictures made with an MP. Ohhh exciting :) Here she is - not sure if it's appropriate to call an inanimate object 'she', but, well, I find her strangely attractive and she has the potential to assist in creating...
