Oww

Lens hood as airbag.

I'm incredibly lucky that the hood is what hit first! Also, that this lens, with its big, fat hood was on the camera at the time.

I stumbled going up a flight of granite stairs at a good clip with the camera strap slung over one shoulder. Instinctively, I reached out to catch myself and before I knew what was happening, the camera was down on the step in front of me, upside-down, backwards.

Good thing it's tough!

That´s really bad, you got my big sympathy on this one.

Hope it can relieve, that this happened (and happens) to others as well. My cameras were: M6 and R9, each a few years apart, so I could save for the repair.

From the looks it´s the hood only, hopefully. Thx for you braveness posting these pics.

Best

Yea but I never dropped a camera.

"Shipment in process." probably means sitting on some shelf waiting for Leicas cash flow to post it. Maybe they put a sail on the box.

Ps ... I hear Erl is developing his favourite Trix @ 0.25 seconds today. Pac Hwy is cut up here again with fires.

I also have Griptac on my MP, wonderful stuff - and the v.1 Summicron 35 also! We have very similar taste. I actually like to use the Summicron a bit more, I find the Hex a bit small for me - nothing wrong with the pictures though, it is a cracking lens!

Peter, nice to here about your settings...quite simmilar indeed.

I like a lot the v.1 summicron and sometimes in BW i

like it more than the hexanon but overall i like the smaller

feeling of the MP with the UChex. Few years ago my favorite camera was

an Hexar AF wich has the same lens 35/2 ( like UChex) , an absolute wonderful

tool. Sommetimes I miss it.
