bayerische Posted November 10, 2006 Share #21 Posted November 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't have an MP, and somehow the missing Leitz or Leica logo, aswell as the missing "Leica M6" or in the MP case "Leica MP" text missing disturbs me somehow. But I understand the wish of keeping the Camera as clean as possible. I love Black Leicas. I believe a Camera should be Black. And I'm looking at my M6 right now. And telling it how much I enjoy using it, and how happy and fortunate I am to be a Leica owner. Why Oh why didn't I buy Leica earlier?
Advertisement Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Hi bayerische, Take a look here I love my MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fonziewonzie Posted November 10, 2006 Share #22 Posted November 10, 2006 I've been following all the M8 hoopla lately and it only made me realize that I think I'm far better off buying an MP. Now, being the digital nut I am, I will process my own negs but I will get a scanner to put my MP photos on the computer. But yeah, the MP sounds like an amazing tool while they sort everything out with the M8. My only indecision now is if I want to go silver, or if I want to go black... I can't wait to have it on my hands though.

treeplanter Posted November 11, 2006 Share #26 Posted November 11, 2006 Count me in as another enthusiastically happy MP owner. I picked up mine (black 0.72) two years back and it has quickly become my favorite 35mm camera. And, as corny as this may sound, it's made me a better photographer too. At least my friends say so. rob_x2004 Posted November 13, 2006 Share #30 Posted November 13, 2006 What are peoples thoughts on 75 or 90 for portraits for this camera? Leave aside Summilux v Summicron debate for the moment. Just the length. Regards
ddp Posted November 13, 2006 Share #31 Posted November 13, 2006 What are peoples thoughts on 75 or 90 for portraits for this camera? Leave aside Summilux v Summicron debate for the moment. Just the length. Regards I've used both on my MP's - although I own a 90. Mostly use the .85 body for that...no problems for me using them.
Guest maddin Posted November 13, 2006 Share #32 Posted November 13, 2006 What are peoples thoughts on 75 or 90 for portraits for this camera? Leave aside Summilux v Summicron debate for the moment. Just the length. Regards Hi Rob, i use both, my 0.72 MP and the 0.58 M7 with the 90 mm but have to admit that the 1.25 viewfinder magnifier does help a great deal. In both cases i can still see the exposure controls. cheers
M'Ate Posted November 13, 2006 Share #33 Posted November 13, 2006 A wonderful, silky smooth, Mechanically Perfect instrument. Will it survive the arrival of the M8 I wonder ? Welcome, dear visitor! R.Morrison Posted November 13, 2006 Share #34 Posted November 13, 2006 me & my MP I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the images of everyone's love object, but Martin, yours was the most emotive by far; kunst indeed. Robert Morrison, M4-P, etc.
stevem7 Posted November 13, 2006 Share #35 Posted November 13, 2006 Just bought a shiny new MP a week ago. Was ina car accident while wearing it and now its scratched and has dried blood in the crevices of the shutter dial and film advance. Works perfectly though, just looks older than it is. I bought the black.

martin Posted November 13, 2006 Share #37 Posted November 13, 2006 @LADP sorry, but in my opinion the silver lense in my opinion does not fit very well to a bp mp
LADP Posted November 14, 2006 Share #38 Posted November 14, 2006 Martin, I know many will feel as you do. My 35 'cron is black, but I have to say that I kind of like the silver lenses, partially because of the brass and heavier construction, and partially because of the esthetic. I do prefer BP for the body though, and it has been said many times in the fashion world that black goes with everything.
imported_peter_m Posted November 14, 2006 Share #39 Posted November 14, 2006 That would be my choice, black body and silver lens. Nice pictures guys..... I am drooling all over my keyboard. Peter
ddp Posted November 14, 2006 Share #40 Posted November 14, 2006 Silver on a black body looks amazing....but in the end, what difference does it really make? I mean, it's not affecting the final image. I am always fascinated by this discussion when it arises....
