I've been thinking of an ALC and what's stopping me is that Leica doesn't provide the old vulcanite - the classic round bumpy ones. I presume yours is the newer and current version of the vulcanite? Luckily, the previous 10 films went through without a hitch. At least, I think they did, as the film counter doesn't work. Mechanical Perfection indeed! I've already scratched mine a bit when it seemed to bind up. You should have received a second cover, with a slot, that might be/work better. It can also work loose if you don't tighten it enough, as happened with mine recently.
