Hi Pete,

I'm not active on this forum but I've just come across the picture of your MP. I've been thinking of an ALC and what's stopping me is that Leica doesn't provide the old vulcanite - the classic round bumpy ones. I presume yours is the newer and current version of the vulcanite? If so, it certainly does look as pretty as the old version - I might just order it. :)

A classic Cuban experience at the moment of my MP's Mechanical Perturbation (clutch mechanism stiffened preventing film advance). Luckily, the previous 10 films went through without a hitch. At least, I think they did, as the film counter doesn't work. Mechanical Perfection indeed! Another trip's on the cards for the MP, this time to Solmes (which was the plan for this body after the trip anyway).

Another.

Hi rpsattler,

The serial number and Leica MP on the hotshoe is gorgeous! May I know how much you paid for this particular customization? I don't see it in the ALC configurator. Also, how long did you have to wait for this request?

Yes, mine is the new stuff. From memory, it's not as tacky to the touch as the old stuff but it feels and looks good. I'm very happy with it.

Pete

Mind you, that battery cover can be difficult to remove. I've already scratched mine a bit when it seemed to bind up. You should have received a second cover, with a slot, that might be/work better. Of course, if you bought the camera to, you know, take pictures, then a few scratches are coming your way anyway. :) Enjoy!

It can also work loose if you don't tighten it enough, as happened with mine recently. Fortunately it didn't detach itself completely before I found it was very loose.

Images work when physically attached, but not when hyperlinked? What's up with that?

Excellent. Note that at least one version of Tapatalk will show images in-line, regardless of source site.

.

In theory. In practice, it often fails to show some pictures, usually the last one within a thread, and I have to use the browser to see it, anyway.

Thank you. It's from Banana Republic about 4 years ago. Great light weight travel jacket.

@mdwtsa4 - I rather like that blue jacket! Where does it come from?

Huh. Never heard of that before. Images are from Fotki. Been using their site for hosting for like 15 years! PM'd the admin with a request to add them. thanks
