Advertisement Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hi garyp, Take a look here I love my MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
chrism Posted June 17, 2010 Share #1582 Posted June 17, 2010 When I last posted in this thread, I had just got a chrome MP and was finding the small shutter speed dial awkward, but I have got used to it, and love the extra silky feel of the mechanics - I think the tales about tighter tolerances in the MP must be true. So the M7 has gone on to a new owner and there is now a black paint MP as a companion to the chrome. With 35 and 75 lenses I'm set to take on the world! My poor M9 is weeping in the corner... leicaoptik Posted June 20, 2010 Share #1586 Posted June 20, 2010 Hi, what viewfinder does the M3J have? Is it the same as in the MP3??? My MP3 has only three lineframes, for 35, 50 and 90mm lenses. The MP3 is close to the classic MP, and the M3J to the M3... Yours M3J is a beauty, where did U get it? How many do exist? Greetz Philip The catalyst for all this articles was my motivation of looking for black MP3 or M3J! I’m deeply fallen love with black one. I have searched black one in ebay ,Westlight or other relative site. But I could’t find my favorite one for long time. I prefer MP3 to M3J,that is different in a counter dial . MP3 is same as M2,MP3 as M3. M2’film counter is classical and most beautiful one , which has white scale and white number in black dial. It’s very good looking. Finally ,I found a Black M3J in Japanese auction and have gotten her! Now show her here, I owe this good partner to your MP lovers! Thank you every MP folk! Greetz Philip Hi Philip, Thank you for paying attention with my tinny posting. At first, I’m sorry that there was a mistake in this phrase and crappy picture ( I have no close-up lens for Leica M so used other digital one :by Ricoh GRD3 ). Correct as follows, “MP3 is same as M2, M3J as M3 in its outlook.” The view finder of M3J is just like as a normal modern MP version with .72x mag, double bright frame lines ,for example 50 and 75 combination . I prefer MP3’s simple and classical one to M3J’s modern but cumbersome one. . The only 200 issues were delivered in 2006 as the Japanese limited edition for memory of the first official dealer shop opening in Japan which is under the direct management of Leica AG. I was inspired to looking for MP3 or M3J by your own one and Westlight’auction picture, if I’m not mistaken in my memory. I found her in Japanese Yahoo! auction and have got it with no competitiveness. I’m not a collector but, she is the most beautiful film camera that could be got into hands as a modern film camera. She is so perfect that I hesitate over shooting at daily use with her. I’m really silly, I’m afraid of putting even a sling ring through a beautiful black hook. I have no hesitation for using roughly a more expensive black M9. Dare to paint the red front face mark black off (I don’t like this red spot). Any Scratches, hard rubbing , throwing her into a bag with naked body is no problem in case of M9,silver chrome MP, but ….I’m afraid of touching M3J…. I should shoot good pictures with her…. Please somebody push my back. “Go to street with her ,take a lot of pictures !”

She is so perfect that I hesitate over shooting at daily use with her.I think that these MP3 and M3J cameras are mostly bought by collectors and have disappeared into safes or whatever. My daily user is an MP3 and it's scratched up, so if you bought the body to use then use it! Would you feel the same way about a regular new MP? If not put the M3J into a nice glass cabinet; admire it every day and get yourself another MP.

JBA Posted June 24, 2010 Share #1596 Posted June 24, 2010 One of my favorite lenses is the 135/2.8. Shown is a hummingbird at 2.8 at about 8 feet on K64. A crazy assignment but the OOF areas are really sweet. The 35 Lux in B+W is always a joy. Doggies are Belgian Malinois, not easy to shoot with a mechanical camera. You've just made me want this lens. And your pooches are very handsome!

SteveYork Posted June 28, 2010 Share #1598 Posted June 28, 2010 I still have my "original" MP that I purchased back in '03, but I just sold a backup that I purchased used about 6 months ago. Nikkor AIS Posted June 28, 2010 Share #1600 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) This thread is the huge reason that Im now a proud owner of a per-owned /minty black MP. It was so new that was a little rough the first couple of rolls. Now after a dozen rolls it's smooth as silk. Thanks to Tim at vintagevisuals for making it happen. It always a pleasure doing business with you. Gregory Edited June 28, 2010 by andybarton
