jaapv Posted April 25, 2018 Share #21 Posted April 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) When you change software, you lose things like keywording and rating. Better to have a separate program. There is a nice overview here: http://www.toptenreviews.com/software/multimedia/best-photo-manager-software/
Advertisement Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Hi jaapv, Take a look here What editing software is best for Leica T(TL)?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted April 25, 2018 Share #22 Posted April 25, 2018 Fair enough. I don't use keywording, and rating only as an ad hoc way of early reviewing and culling. I use Collections more often, but the benefits of managing filing from within LR are strong enough for me to use LR even for that.
IkarusJohn Posted April 25, 2018 Share #23 Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) I don’t use rating or keywording either. I’ve used LR for processing only, making sure that I control all filing. I’ve just completed importing all my photos into the CaptureOne catalogue. What was interesting was that CaptureOne went looking for photos in every folder I pointed it to. I could have just pointed it at my root directory, and it would have found everything. That has made cleaning up my files considerably easier. Now, I need to play more with the processing tools. Having watched the introductory video, I’m very optimistic. The user interface seems more user friendly than LR. Meanwhile, it gave me great pleasure to cancel all my Adobe subscriptions.
