I just picked up a 21mm Elmarit-M and like it very much. I ask the forum, is there a way to correct the lens reddish cast at the edges in Lightroom? If I code the lens manually in the M-P 240, everything looks fine.

However, I know I will not remember to code the lens most of the time. I also will forget to switch back after using it. If there is a way to correct in Lightroom, I would prefer to do it that way.

There are two ways to correct the red edges:

With the Flat Field plugin in Lightroom

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/lightroomplugins.html

or

with Cornerfix : https://sourceforge.net/projects/cornerfix/

Test test test...

I coded mine with a dreml back in the M8 days, worked fine with the M9 and now with both M240's.  There's only one pit needed to mill, which wil be filled with flat-black enamel, however there is a flange screw in the line of sight of the code reader, and that needs to be painted with flat white, otherwise the camera thinks it's a black pit.

PS I coded all my lenses by hand measurement, not using any kind of template kit, and all have transitioned perfectly up through the M240.  However if someone isn't handy, I would definitely recommend having an independent shop code it, or else send it to Leica and have them switch out the flange.  IIRC the pre-ASPH Elmarit is one they will convert.

Yep, my un-coded, pre-digital age 21mm f2.8 Elmarit ASPH is on the way back from DAG this very moment from having the 6 bit coding added. He did it faster than Leica ever would have, and at a better cost for the same work, which he does for anyone, assuming he has the needed mount for the lens in question at the time.
