dennersten Posted June 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry to bother you. I have been lazy with getting IR-Filters. Mostly because i have'nt had that much of a problem. And Leica where pretty fast to send me a 39 mm filter. Which had helped me so far. But now i am panicing .. From 11 - 20 July i have a biig job. I must have at least a 60 mm to my Noct, but it would be great to find a source where i can order a complete set of filters. I have tried B+H and Ebay without any luck. jaapv Posted June 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 14, 2007 Willkommen bei Foto Huppert Michael Huppert is the semi-official factory outlet for B&W filters. If he does not have it, prospects are bleak indeed. You can call him, he speaks good English.
robsteve Posted June 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 14, 2007 Sorry to bother you. I solved this same problem in December by mounting the 62mm filter glass in an old B+W 60mm filter ring. The 62mm UV-IR flters were quite available back then. The B+W 62mm UV-IR filter glass is 60mm in diameter and fits in the older B+W 60mm mounts where the locking ring is at the front of the filter ring. If you ordered a 60mm filter from Leica as part of your two free filters, there is probably a good chance you will get it by July. I think they were supposed to start shipping the 60mm soon. grober Posted June 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 14, 2007 FEDEX tried to deliver my Leica 60mm filter today but no one was here (in the USA) to sign for it. This suggests that Solms may have received a shipment of the larger filters and is starting to send these filters out to M8 owners who previously registered on the Leica site. (I'm eager to use my coded 21mm Leica lens that has forlornly languished on the shelf for months waiting for its own E60 filter.) If in fact the FEDEX package contains my filter, maybe it's a sign that both 55mm & 60mm Leica IR-cut filters will become generally available by early July. -g
nikau Posted June 14, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) J.W.'s post is good news. I ordered my 60mm filter in Feb and was "promised" it by May along with a 46. Neither has arrived so far.
grober Posted June 14, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 14, 2007 J.W.'s post is good news. I ordered my 60mm filter in Feb and was "promised" it by May along with a 46. Neither has arrived so far. I agree it's good news EXCEPT for the sad fact that today's missed FEDEX shipment is not from Germany but seems to have originated in Arizona. (I checked the tracking number.) I'm not sure what this shipment contains but the evidence indicates it ain't my much-desired 60mm Leica filter. Sorry for the false excitement; I'll be more circumspective in the future. -g

neelin Posted June 15, 2007 Share #10 Posted June 15, 2007 Just kidding! All we have in Arizona is cotton, cactus and sand . Pick your pleasure. ROTFLMAO yeah, right....I've been to Arizona & saw cactii (I had a near death experience when I started laughing when my wife said, quote/unquote "How come you're not supposed to touch the Choya Ca....AAAHHHHGGHH!") & sand, but I didn't lift any shirts to see how much belly button lint was in Arizona Jumping cactii, indeed....Robert
Guest guy_mancuso Posted June 15, 2007 Share #11 Posted June 15, 2007 First lesson to learn when visiting Arizona is don't get drunk and get friendly with the cactus , that first hug does hurt a bit. LOL
wlaidlaw Posted June 17, 2007 Share #12 Posted June 17, 2007 Good news if the 60mm filters are on the way. Don't know why I am worried, my Nocti is stuck in the slow lane in Solms. I really want it back for some of the evening events which are starting to take place round me in France. The f2 35mm Biogon is just not quite fast enough. erl Posted June 18, 2007 Share #13 Posted June 18, 2007 My heart just jumped! FedEx van pulled up just now while I am browsing. Large envelope from Germany. Yes!! My free filters? I ordered a 55 & 60. Damn, only the 55 is in the bag. Still waiting for the 60 for my Noctilux, which is feeling underpriveledged alongside its mates in the bag. Reality is, the 60's can't be far away . . . . surely:rolleyes:
wlaidlaw Posted June 18, 2007 Share #14 Posted June 18, 2007 GOOD NEWS! I had an email today from the very helpful Jessica Schwanzara at Leica, confirming they had received back the 43mm filter I had returned to them. She went on to advise me that 60mm filter shipments have now started, so we should all be getting them soon. Wilson
