malcolm.mcintyre Posted June 13, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted June 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm sure this will have come up before, but I can't find it on Search. Got my new M8 yesterday, but there doesn't seem to be Leica M8 RAW plug-in for Elements in the bundled software. My Elements won't recoginise the Leica RAW files. Do I have to open the files in Capture One, convert to TIFF or JPEG and then import into Elements? Â Is there a way of downloading a plug-in for Elements? Advertisement Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Hi malcolm.mcintyre, Take a look here M8 and Photoshop Elements 4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 13, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted June 13, 2007 Update it; the newest version opens M8 without a problem. Better results, imo, are obtained by opening DNG in the C1 you got from the camera and exporting that (automatically) t o PSE. For PSE4 use 8 bits TIFF export. The ACR update is on the Adobe website. wlaidlaw Posted June 13, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted June 13, 2007 Exporting from C1 as a 16 bit TIFF works just fine too. Only minor downside is that you have to reduce it to 8 bits if you want to save as a JPEG with EXIF, otherwise Save for Web does it automatically but strips the EXIF off. Â Unless PSE4 has updated today, do not download ACR later than 3.7. ACR 4.0 and 4.1 do not run in PSE4 and won't until the promised PSE 4.01 comes out. wlaidlaw Posted June 13, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted June 13, 2007 Sorry - I am out of date PSE4.01 has finally been released - apologies for obsolete information. Â Wilson
grober Posted June 14, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted June 14, 2007 PSE4 seems to meet all my needs. (I shoot DNG only; translate to TIFF in C1.) Â Related question: other than the Bridge product (which may be reason enough,) what compeling reason is there to go to Photoshop CS2 or CS3?
