XVarior Posted September 27, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 27, 2016 What a place. Beautiful close up shot of the phantom ship. Backlighting makes the shot. My type of light. Love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Northwest Wanderer Posted September 27, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted September 27, 2016 Thank you Hank & Rodrigue. Rodrigue, The background color is a result of the lighting and the water itself. All this water is from snow melt over years and the chemical makeup of the volcanic soil. The lake itself is over 1900 feet deep which is amazing. Pecole Posted September 29, 2016 Share #8 Posted September 29, 2016 Phantom Ship is a rock formation within the crater. Crater Lake was formed by volcanic eruptions. VL 114 Really nice! I believe I saw a "phantom ship", a white silhouette, about the middle of the first image? But finally, the close-up of the island is the real attraction. Congratulations. platypus Posted September 30, 2016 Share #9 Posted September 30, 2016 Bill. How very interesting these shots are and what fascinating and beautiful little island the "ship" is revealed to be in the closeup. Crater Lake itself is new to me....I love to learn something every day and I think for today this is it, so thank you!
